Making Every Event a Celebration

We often talk about engaging customers by making events feel like special celebrations. While August has no official holidays to celebrate, there are some fun observances you can capitalize on, including National Peach Month, National S’mores Day and Family Meals Month. As you do events for items that fit in with these categories, get shoppers even more excited about the product by telling them about the celebration they can be part of! Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • National Peach Month honors this humble stone fruit as a nutritional powerhouse, packed with fiber, vitamin C, vitamin A and potassium. Whether fresh, canned, grilled or baked, peaches make a delicious and healthy snack.
  • August 10th is National S’mores Day. First published by the Girl Scouts in 1927, the recipe for this campfire favorite is a hit with kids and adults alike. And while the classic graham cracker, marshmallow, milk chocolate combo is always delicious, it’s a fun recipe to get creative with, too—swapping in goodies like vanilla wafer cookies or peanut butter cups.
  • With kids heading back to school, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the many benefits of eating as a family with Family Meals Month. Research shows children who eat family meals have better communication skills, get better grades and are less likely to use drugs or alcohol. Quick meal kits and ready-to-eat deli items are a great way to start reaping the benefits tonight and every night.
