Any time we see a new product, meet a new person or taste a new food, we begin to form an opinion about it. It’s possible for our opinions to change over time, but that first encounter often has lasting impact—especially if it was a negative one. That’s why Sales Advisor Jessica Duralia says focusing on making the best possible first impression is key to selling success.
For Jessica, it all starts from within. “I always go to work with a positive attitude and a smile on my face,” she says. “It’s also important to be kind to the folks who approach your cart.”
“I try to have a good attitude about every product I sample as well,” continues Jessica. She motivates herself by putting herself in the shoes of the vendor. “When I am promoting a product, I think to myself ‘OK, if this were my product, I would want to do the best possible and create the best impression to promote the item.’ After all, you only get once chance to make a first impression.”
Jessica also reminds us that you never have to go it alone. “Try to be in contact with your Area Manager often and ask questions,” she suggests. “They’re always there when you need help.”
