The U.S. led the world in mobile advertisement growth in 2012, with spending up 220%. Globally, spending on mobile ads reached $8.41 billion in 2012, compared with just over $4 billion in 2011.

In 2012, shoppers did less coupon clipping and more coupon clicking. Paper coupon redemption declined nearly 15% (despite a 6% increase in distribution), while 82% of shoppers said they were using more online coupons compared to 2011.
