Turning Unique Celebrations into Event Inspirations

Every day you strive to make your event a celebration—for you, for Meijer and most importantly the customer. I love any excuse to celebrate and February provides plenty of opportunities. During this month, we recognize Black History Month in honor of many important people and events. It is also impossible not to get excited about February without thinking of February 14th, beloved Valentine’s Day. Whether it’s hearts, chocolates and flowers or honoring African Americans notable for their contributions to American history, African American art or museum exhibitions, these are well known events that require preparations for celebrations.

However, those popular celebrations are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what makes February particularly special. Other nationally recognized days in February include Bubble Gum Day (February 1st), Innovation Day (February 16th), Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17th), Love your pet Day (February 20th), Pancake Day (February 21st), Margarita Day (February 22nd) and Fairy Tale Day (February 26th).

This month is full of distinctive celebrations that create the chance for further event development. When going through these unique occasions, it is easy to think of demonstration events for each one of them that would allow us to “seize the day.” EMI recognizes that having events associated with these types of specific themes strengthens your ability to engage customers and tie-in a product’s promotional strategies with the supported theme. We will continue to take advantage of these opportunities in order to help increase customer interaction and product sales.

We have kicked off the year and have every expectation of making our 2013 business better than ever before. With as many quirky and traditional celebrations that are recognized, we will continue taking advantage of them by creating fun and exciting events for our retailers and their manufacturers/suppliers.

A notable thank you goes out to all of you, our Sales Advisors, for your continued contributions to the development and success of our organization. We wish you nothing but joy throughout the month of February.

Best regards,

Deborah Michaels
Senior Director
