Changing Our Game

david-prostkoCan you believe it’s already March and we’re starting to wrap up the first quarter of the year?! Time goes by quickly in the retail business, especially with the variety of services that we provide. As we move through March with events for St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness and then Spring and Easter, we will look at how to continue to drive new points of value in our business services.

Our business plan for 2013 represents another year of growth, with our goals focused on how we will continue to “Change Our Game.” As we work with a very progressive retailer, it is to our advantage to challenge the status quo and look for ways where we can improve. The ability to think broadly and boldly on how we drive innovative ways to help Meijer and our vendor partners reach more consumers effectively causes us to regularly adapt and change what we do. This goes right to the heart of doing things that reflect Elite Marketing Interactions’ business goals of being sustainable, indispensable and relevant.

As we enter the second quarter, our business activities will also begin to incorporate some of the new changes we plan to implement for the year. For example, we’ll be starting a special program in the Southern Region that focuses just on the Fresh and Perishable Departments. The program will help promote new items and create customer awareness, help customers locate their purchases, drive special sales items and help push items long on inventory to reduce shrink.

Our tactics for Taste of Meijer will also change. Instead of the usual 6 major events per year—including 3 longer 2-day events—we’ll have only 4 major 1-day events this year and 8 to 10 smaller events that will focus on other key holiday and market-specific events. This will allow us to capitalize on more holidays and special events that weren’t previously promoted, and target more specific event dates for peak customer traffic to maximize sales. It will also make the program more manageable and allow us to help Meijer target specific areas for growth.

Also in the second quarter, we will work to “Change Our Game” in many areas where we have been making an effort to improve our service, drive efficiencies through technology and improve our effectiveness. For example, we’ll expand our use of tablets for managing event communication and work to enhance our performance though more timely and thorough direction.

Every Elite Marketing Interactions employee plays an important role in our success, and working together, we can make these changes smoother and more manageable. So as we make a full swing into the second quarter of the year and move forward with the many new programs we are implementing, I ask for your continued effort and support.

Thank you for all that you do every day for your company. I look forward to another successful year for all of us!

Sincerely,
