Our Strategic Goals: Four Areas of Focus for 2014

It’s hard to believe that the first quarter of 2014 is already in our rearview mirror. As we progress through the year I think it is important to maintain a sharp focus on our four key results areas. As you may remember, at the start of the year we agreed upon achieving the following goals this year: increasing our score from 70 to 77 on the Great Places to Work survey, growing our net margin by 10 basis points, increasing our average score in the buy-sell hierarchy from a 3 to a 3.5 and working with new and existing customers to offer at least 50 new services.

Part of achieving these goals entails transforming the company culture to one that values accountability. According to the Oz Principle, a practice the entire organization is embracing, accountability means rising above the circumstances and demonstrating the ownership necessary to achieve results. It means being above the line, as opposed to below the line, as remaining above the line helps us to accelerate results and refocuses our energy in a positive direction.

We all have accountability toward the budget, our constituents and the overall enterprise.  Setting out to achieve our 2014 strategic goals will align us to be successful in achieving Vision 2020. This long-term vision for Daymon comprises our goal (vision), what we will do to realize the goal (mission) and how we will work together to realize the goal (culture). Our long-term vision is to be recognized as the global leader in consumables retailing by elevating the art and science of private brand building, experiential consumer marketing and innovative retail-driven services. To realize this vision, Daymon Worldwide will deliver unique solutions to our partners so they can achieve differentiation drive profitable sales growth and win customer loyalty. Together, our 35,000 highly trained, passionate associates will collaborate to use their knowledge, skills and talent to make our partners more successful and increase their impact.

This is a tall order, but working together will not only accelerate our growth as a company, but it will also secure us a much stronger position in the marketplace.  We appreciate your support in cascading this information to your teams, and employing the best practices that support these initiatives.
